It's one of those classic "best kept secrets" and there is certainly room in 22 Spots to include a unique dining experience such as Upstairs Live at World Café Live. This one is a casual spot almost on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, and in addition to live music, this restaurant has a talented and creative chef in Matthew Babbage. Chef Babbage specializes in the art of presenting "a relaxed twist on serious food" and this popular music venue has quickly become a favorite casual dining destination for eclectic comfort food. There is a colorful bar to match, accompanied by an exciting Happy Hour (Monday thru Friday, 5 to 7:30).

World Cafe Live is the home of The University of Pennsylvania's acclaimed independent/alternative public radio station 88.5 FM/WXPN. It's named after the famous David Dye-hosted syndicated program ("World Café") that is broadcast weekly to some 165 public radio stations around the country. This spot features live music and fine food seven nights a week and is a perfect choice for those seeking something very different from the traditional restaurant experience.

Daily lunch and dinner specials are offered as well as the simple and eclectic menu, created by Chef Babbage that includes a wide range of salads, entrees, burgers and specialty sandwiches. Enjoy items such as Sesame Seared Tuna with wasabi mayonnaise; their Signature LiVE Burger with caramelized onions, bacon and Vermont cheddar cheese; Tommy Gunn's Pulled Pork sandwich; and Di Bruno Bros. cheese and antipasto platters. The menu is sure to please the most refined palates.

This spot is also home to some of the best wine events in the city so be sure to check their web site as there is always something different every night of the week (not to mention their wonderful live children's shows on Saturdays).
