Over the years, some of the best cooking in the City of Brotherly Love has been in the kitchen of one of our area's most classic restaurants. The news is very good indeed - The Marigold Kitchen lives on under the direction of a Philadelphia native and talented Chef/Owner, Robert Halpern. Chef Halpern has dropped anchor in this beloved University City neighborhood spot after several adventurous years working in some of the top kitchens in America including the famed Coyote Cafe in Sante Fe with Chef Mark Miller; Alinea in Chicago with Chef Grant Achatz; and Hugo's in Portland, Maine with Chef Rob Evans.

The combination of his unique experiences are reflected in a menu that includes the likes of Pan Seared Diver Scallops (with Black Truffle, Sweet Potato Puree, & Essence of Pineapple); Slow Baked Salmon (with Vanilla Croquettes, Baby Beets, Fennel, Berries, & House-made Yogurt); "Pork, Beans & Beer" (with White Bean Puree, Proscuitto Crisps, Brussel Sprouts, & Guinness Foam); and the RibEye (with Feijoida Beans, Herbed Chimmichurri, Collard Greens, & Garlic) - just to name a few.

There is only One Marigold Kitchen, and folks love their BYOB's and the uniqueness of this most interesting dining experience. It's great to see Chef Halpern back in Philadelphia and the Marigold back with 22 Spots.
